Recognition

IMG_1590

In 2005 the TVFBA formed a committee to examine how volunteers are recognised and to identify ways that recognition could occur in the future.

The committee made the following suggestions –

  • When a person completes their basic course and probation a letter be sent to the volunteer by the Chief Officer welcoming them to the fire service.
  • A certificate be sent to volunteers who have reached 5 years service.
  • The TFS seek incentives for volunteers eg discounts etc.

The Association is pleased that the TFS have agreed to the following recognition strategies –

  • A letter of welcome is sent to each new member from the District Officer.
  • The TFS have developed a 5 Year Service Award.  The award should be issued from the 1st July 2009 for members who have completed more than 5 years service (but less than 10 years).
  • The TFS will seek incentives for all fire service personnel.  This will take some time to complete.
